Power Up Your Business with EV Charging Incentives

New Jersey's Clean Energy Program is offering substantial incentives for Level 2 and DC fast chargers – exclusively for businesses, hotels, attractions and other destinations located along key travel routes.
Incentive amounts depend on site type and distance from eligible corridors. Bonus incentives are available for installations in Overburdened Municipalities.

Note: Incentive caps are per fiscal year.
*Hotels can receive a maximum of 4 incentivized chargers. Up to 2 of those chargers can be DCFCs if the hotel meets the additional distance and publicly accessible requirements.
Bonus Incentives
Sites within a designated Overburdened Municipality can qualify for a 50% bonus incentive, bringing the total incentive to:
- $7,500 per Level 2 charger
- $75,000 per DC fast charger

Eligibility Requirements
Eligible Applicants
- Businesses
- Hotels
- Government and nonprofit entities
Government and nonprofit entities may qualify for higher incentives through the Clean Fleet EV and EV Charging Program. Your EV Tourism application will be reviewed to check your eligibility.
Eligible Corridors
To qualify for incentives, sites must be in proximity to one of the following:
- Toll routes
- Interstate routes
- U.S. highways
- State highways
Eligible Site Types
Hotels
This includes overnight lodging establishments with 10 or more units. Hotels must be located within 3 miles of an eligible corridor.
Tourism Locations
Tourism locations are defined as sites within one mile of the nearest highway exit or intersection along an eligible corridor that have publicly available restrooms and offer one of the following:
- Amusement
- Arts
- Culture
- Attractions
- Entertainment
- History
- Recreation
Other Commercial Sites
Other commercial sites within one mile of the nearest highway exit or intersection along an eligible corridor that have publicly available restrooms and at least one other amenity onsite may also be eligible. Qualifying amenities may include:
- Convenience stores
- Restaurants
- Retail stores other than convenience stores
Eligible Equipment
Level 2 charging equipment must be:
- Dual port
- Capable of networking with a state compliant network provider
- ENERGY STAR certified
- OCPP 1.6 (or later) certified
- UL 2594 certified
DC fast charging equipment must be:
- Dual port
- Capable of networking with a state compliant network provider
- OCPP 1.6 (or later) certified
- UL 2202 certified
Eligible Equipment
- All DC fast chargers funded by the EV Tourism Corridor Charging Program must be available to the public.
- Level 2 chargers funded by the EV Tourism Corridor Charging Program may be used for hotel guests only or for both guests and the public, unless DC fast chargers are also incentivized. In this case, all chargers must be made publicly available.
