Charge Up New Jersey and its related programs offer statewide incentives for residents, businesses, non-profit entities, educational institutions, and governments interested in electric vehicles (EVs) and EV charging infrastructure.
Program Goals
The New Jersey Board of Public Utilities (NJBPU) Clean Energy Program is dedicated to increasing the affordability and adoption of EVs across the state and to reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
To support these goals, NJBPU launched the Charge Up New Jersey EV Incentive Program in 2020 to provide “cash on the hood” rebates to buy or lease an EV.
Since then, five more programs have been added to support drivers’ transition to EVs and help residents, businesses, and other organizations install EV chargers.
These programs are:
- Charge Up New Jersey EV Incentive Program
- Charge Up In-Home EV Charger Incentive Program
- Charge Up+ EV Incentive Program (income-qualified)
- Multi-Unit Dwelling EV Charging Incentive Program
- Clean Fleet EV and EV Charging Program
- EV Tourism Corridor Charging Program
